Language is important to the culture because that is something that sets them apart from other cultures and creates a sense of unity among the other people in their own culture. Verbal and Non-verbal language are learned patterns specific to each culture, it is what you are taught from a very young age and that is also what helps to keep the culture alive. Language is a barrier from one culture to the other. It is something that can interfere when trying to communicate cross-culturally. It is something that allows us to generate stereotypes and biases, especially when we don't understand why the culture communicates in the way that is does.
1. I think that language is everything to a culture because that is how they communicate and what sets them apart from other cultures. Each culture not only has different verbal languages, but they also have their own unique nonverbal language as well. They are also taught their language from a very young age and it stays with them throughout their entire lifetime. 2.I think that the most important role that language plays in the relationship of one culture to another is the fact that it is a barrier to other cultures. Since most cultures have different languages, it is difficult to communicate with people from other cultures which can lead to many problems. The language barrier can be a significant problem when it comes to business deals and other business related items. Language barriers can also lead to stereotypes when one culture is using their language in a different way from another culture and the other culture takes offense to it or thinks that they are being made fun of. So even though language is important to every culture, it can lead to problems due to the language barrier.
1. Language is a very important because it allows people of the same culture to communicate with one another. However, it is often taken for granted. Members of a culture are unaware of it's central role in the ability to function. It is often noticed by members when members of another culture are trying to learn the language and cannot become competent. 2. Language can be the same among two different countries but the dialect can be different which causes problems when communicating with others. Despite the common language between two countries, meanings can get confused and the communication between the two countries can become difficult. Intercultural communications is between two countries who speak different languages in which case a translator or interpreter would be needed.
1. The language spoken by a culture can tell a lot. There are a lot of important reasons for the sayings we have or the way we speak to one another. Language is completely essential for a culture and can set it apart from all different groups. Language also connects people on a different level.Without language, we cannot communicate, thus we cannot survive. 2. Language strengthens the bond between those in the same culture because it is more difficult to understand others who speak a different language than you and it also makes a person vulnerable when they cannot communicate. When a person does not speak your language most people automatically decide the conversation cannot happen. It is important to use translators and other means to connect culture, no matter the language barrier. Even cultures who speak the same language have these same problems because of accents or different meanings for the same words.
1. Language is so important to the members of a culture because it is how people get the word across. Every language has its unique features and the members of a culture are all accustomed to its features. The linguistic features of a language is what distinguishes each language from the others. Using language in a culture makes it easier for those members to talk and answer the questions of others. In a members culture, they have several ways affecting their language including; variations in vocabulary, variations in linguistic grammars, cultural conceptions of time, showing respect and social hierarchy, pronouns and cultural characteristics, and linguistic relativity and intercultural communication.
2.Language plays a very important role in the relationship of one culture to another. Some cultures may have the same language but this doesn't mean they perceive it the same way. It is important that other cultures adapt to a different culture's speech patterns to the behaviors of others. Language is very important from one culture to another because it is used as a way of approval or acceptance. Language establishes and maintains the identity of a particular culture.
1) Language is imperative to a culture because that is their way of communicating. If there were different languages within a culture there would be lots of conflict and miscommunication. Thinking back to when I was in Mexico, the language was obviously a huge barrier to me and the citizens I communicated with. If this happened to members of the same culture then it would be a constant battle. 2) Language plays a barrier role among one culture to another, unless the language was the same. Like I said above, it makes it harder to communicate and that is when many miscommunications come about. Fortunately for us, technology plays a huge role in helping us to communicate from culture to culture that speak different languages. Without this, and for some of us, there would be no way for us to communicate and get around in different cultures that speak different languages than us. The language barrier could also cause uprisings and fights among different cultures if something was interpreted differently due to a fault in the translation of the language.
1. I believe that language is very important to each member of a culture as well as the culture as a whole. This is how we connect the most with people in the same culture as us. Speaking the same language puts us on common ground and is very important not only because that is how we communicate ourselves to each other, but also it would be a very lonely world if no one spoke the same language as you. Communication is important in our daily lives and we would be no where without it.
2. I think language is still very important between cultures even though they may not be the same language. However, it makes things very difficult when you don't know the same language and you are trying to communicate with someone. In other words, verbal language and communication don't play as big of a role in intercultural communication as it does in intracultural communication. Language can actually be a pretty big barrier and nonverbal communication comes into play a lot more. Issues could also arise when both parties speak the same language or just know the same language because accent problems could happen or words could mean completely different things and there could be a lot of confusion.
1) Language is very important to the members of its culture because it is what sets them apart from every other culture. It is how they communicate with one another and, with out that, there would be chaos. 2) Language plays the role of a barrier to get past from one culture to another. For instance, if we want to make a business deal with a country in Europe, but we have to make the first move, we have to learn to speak their language in order for them to take notice and want to work with us. Language can bring cultures together, or keep them apart.
1. Language is a key component to culture because it is how a group of people communicate to one another, it also sets them apart from another culture. Language is very important because everyone needs to be able to talk to each other. 2. Language is a barrier from culture to culture, most of the time people are now lerning different languages before this the use of hands were very helpful. Now a days when people plan on visiting or dealing with another person from a different speaking place they will learn that language or else they will be lost and not be able to communicate very well or at all.
1.) Language is essentially important to members of a culture. First of all, our language is how we communicate and it's what sets us apart from other cultures. Our language sticks with us our who lives because we are taught it when we are young and we use it the rest of our lives. Also, how we communicate is a big part of our language and all cultures have different ways of nonverbal communication. 2.) Language plays a large role in the relationship of one culture to another. It can be a large barrier if you don't understand each other. It's harder to connect ourselves with that culture if we have a language barrier and it may interfere with business deals or trades with different cultures. Also, if we do understand other languages of different cultures then that allows us to communicate and understand each other better and have a better relationship.
1. Culture revolves around language. Whether it is verbal or non verbal communication, a language can define a culture. I language can be a common ground for all members of a certain community. Within a community, there is a lot of diversity in social status, beliefs, politics, etc. but language can serve as a common ground. Language helps up communicate our own thoughts, as well as understand the thoughts of others. A culture that speaks the same language, or can speak many languages, will be more connected overall. When we met with our family I could tell that their native language was a crutch for them. They tried to use english as much as they could, but if they really needed to communicate something fast, they would speak their native language. I could sense from across the table that they felt a sense of comfort when they were speaking their own language. It was almost like their language was the little piece of home that they still carried around with them. Language doesn't have to stay within a community, we can bring it with us as we travel around the world, and use it as a way to understand the world around us. 2. Language can play a positive or negative role in language culture to culture. Often times, when applying for a job, candidates that are fluent in more than one language would be hired over someone that only speaks one primary language. Being able to speak more than one language allows one to provide a sense of welcome to another culture. For example, if a represetnative from Company A is in charge of a hosting a meeting with an asian representative from Company B, it would make the representative from Company B much more comfortable if there was a common language. This can also make business deals, or whatever conclusion is being drawn, easier to come to. Language can play a negative role in many ways. In the same example as before, the business meeting would be quite uncomfortable if the parties could not understand one and other. Language can also be misinterpreted. If there is any mistake in translation, language can send the wrong message. Either way, whether positive or negative, language defines relations between cultures.
1) Language is very important for the members of a culture because it allows for them to be able to communicate their beliefs and values to the other members of their culture and to the members of other cultures. Language also contributes to a culture's identity, as communication is one of the essential things that allows a culture to express what it believes to the members of society. Without language, a culture would not be the same and would probably end up losing a large part of its identity.
2) Language is very important in terms of relationships between cultures because, without language, it would sometimes be very difficult to communicate one's cultural identity. However, language can also serve as a barrier between cultures because, if the cultures speak different languages, then they will not be able to communicate effectively, and there will likely be miscommunication between the groups.
1.) Language is very important for the members of a culture because its what allows them to communicate and talk. Without language, no one would be able to communicate within a culture and understand each other. Language is what allows us to understand people in our culture and its what makes us different from another culture.
2.) Language plays a huge role in the relationships between cultures because when both cultures speak the same language, we can communicate well. There is still some things that are miscommunicated because our languages and nonverbal sings are different but for the most part we can communicate. However, if our language is different from culture to culture then it creates a problem because it becomes really hard to communicate. Without a common language to use, you start to rely on pointing and one word you know in their language which makes the communication very strained and hard. This shows how communication plays a huge role on the relationships between cultures because I will have a better relationship with someone I can talk with and understand in my own language than someone who we don't share a common language and don't talk at all.
1. Language is extremely important for members of a culture because it is how things get communicated. Without language nobody would understand exactly what another person wants. Language helps fix that issue. Language also helps make that certain culture unique and be different from other cultures.
2. Language plays a major role in relationships between cultures. If people don't speak the same language then miscommunication will occur and mistakes would be made. That is way so many culture are fluent in more than just their language. In order to get stuff done people need to be on the same page and a step towards that is speaking one language.
1. Language is very important to members of a culture because it allows them to communicate with one another through words. Without language it would be very difficult to communicate in a way that is easy to understand. Language is a way to set apart your culture from a different culture.
2. Language plays a very important role in relationships between cultures. When different cultures speak the same language it is easier to form relationships. When cultures do not speak the same language there can often be a lot of miscommunication which makes it more difficult to form relationships.
1. Language is extremely important to the members of culture because it is their way of communicating. It is also vital to a cultural because it is what sets them apart from other cultures and preserves their uniqueness. 2. However, language can play negative roles in the relationship of one culture to another because it can cause confusion with miscommunication. In other words, language can cause major barriers during intercultural communication. Despite this, I believe that language can also play positive roles in intercultural relationships because if languages are different, it will force one another to observe and learn more about the other's cultures. This will ultimately result in awareness, knowledge, and acceptance of diversity all around the world.
1. Language is extremely important to members of a culture, because without language they would be unable to communicate properly to other members. You would be unable to express yourself to others and it would create a great barrier in society and social understandings. 2. The role of languages in the relationship of one culture to another is important. Many cultures speak other languages and we often find it hard to understand values and what other cultures practice because we do not speak the same language as them. If two different cultures speak the same language you can learn to understand each other a little easier, but if two cultures speak a completely different language it could lead to miscommunication and misunderstandings.
1.) Language is highly important for members of a culture, because it allows people to communicate with one another. It helps create a sense of unity as it allows for separation from other groups. 2.) Language can cause a rift between cultures due to different forms of communicating and different ideas of what nonverbal ques mean. In one culture, the middle finger means something horrible while in another it's just a middle finger. Things like this are seen all over. The trick is understanding the differences and being able to communicate through them. Though it can be a barrier, it can also create awareness and acceptance of other cultures.
Language is a means of communication between the people of a culture, which makes it extremely important. This gives them a way to express themselves. Language is also a tool used to define the personality of a culture because it is shared between the members.
Depending on if they speak the same language as a means of communication as well as non-verbal communication then communication can occur easily from culture to culture. If they don't speak the same language, this can be a difficulty, but communicating through non-verbal cues and gestures, both people of different cultures can find shared meaning.
